Ash & Echo is a slow-burn sapphic fantasy web series set in a world where magic is tightly controlled by the tyrannical Luminous Empire—and certain forms of power have been erased from history entirely.

Ash is a runaway elven noblewoman and the last known wielder of ash magic, a forbidden art believed to be extinct. For three years, she has survived in hiding among the slums of the border city Greyhollow, keeping her head down and her power buried.

When a rebel sabotage mission goes wrong, Ash is forced to reveal her magic to save Echo, the formidable commander of the local resistance cell. Echo quickly realises that Ash’s abilities may be the key to understanding the Empire’s newest and most terrifying weapon: the Wraiths—shadowy creatures that devour human emotion and leave their victims hollow and broken.

Bound by necessity, Ash and Echo strike a fragile bargain. Ash will aid the rebellion in exchange for protection—and a chance to strike back at the Empire that destroyed her family. But as they navigate dangerous missions, investigate Wraith attacks, and uncover the Empire’s darkest secrets, their partnership begins to change.

What starts as survival becomes trust. What begins as alliance slowly deepens into something neither of them planned for—and neither of them can afford to lose.

Episode 2: Hollow Ground

Ash and Echo travel to Millstone Crossing to investigate the Wraith attack. Forced proximity reveals the first cracks in both their armour as they begin to understand what they're truly facing.

Episode 3 : The Informant's Price

Ash and Echo must seek out a dangerous information broker to decode stolen Imperial documents. Their cover requires posing as a couple, forcing them to confront the attraction growing between them while navigating a world of secrets and lies.

Episode 4: WHISPERS IN THE DARK

The Empire sends Commander Thorne, their most skilled Inquisitor, to Greyhollow. Ash and Echo must go into hiding together, forcing them to confront the feelings growing between them while the pressure mounts. First appearance of a Harbinger-class Wraith—and the revelation that they retain more awareness than anyone suspected.

Episode 5: THE SCHOLAR'S GAMBIT

Ash and Echo must infiltrate the University of Imperial Mysteries to extract a defecting professor who claims to have proof of how Wraiths are created. Ash poses as minor nobility, forcing her to confront the life she left behind. The mission goes wrong when an Inquisitor recognises her family name, leading to a desperate escape and revelations about Echo's past.

Episode 6: Chains Of Silver

The team attempts to capture and study a Wraith to understand how to free the souls trapped within. The mission goes catastrophically wrong when they encounter a Harbinger-class Wraith—and Echo is drained by its touch, left hollow and emotionless. Ash must find a way to bring her back, discovering in the process that her magic can do more than end things—it can also complete what was interrupted, including broken souls.

Episode 7: THE ENVOY'S SHADOW

Commander Thorne arrives in Greyhollow with a Harbinger-class Wraith, hunting specifically for the ash mage who's been disrupting Imperial operations. The rebellion goes into lockdown. Ash and Echo are forced into close quarters for days while Ash recovers from freeing Kiran. Intimate confessions, deeper connection, and the first real kiss. But Thorne is closing in, and Ash discovers something devastating: her family's names on a list of mages processed through the Pyre. They're not just dead—they were transformed. Her family might still exist, trapped as Wraiths.

Episode 8: THE PYRE's PROMISE

Armed with proof of the Empire's crimes and driven by personal stakes that couldn't be higher, Ash makes a decision: they're going to the Ember Spire. Not eventually. Now. Echo tries to argue for more planning, but Ash is beyond caution—her family is suffering right now, and every day they wait is another day of torture. The episode focuses on preparation, team assembly, saying goodbyes to people who might not survive, and Ash and Echo finally, finally kissing properly because neither of them is willing to die without knowing what it would have felt like. The episode ends with them riding toward the Spire at dawn—toward the final confrontation.

Episode 9: INTO THE EMBER

The assault on the Ember Spire begins. Vess guides them through the secret entrance. The team encounters resistance they didn't anticipate. Ash must use her magic on a scale she's never attempted before—disrupting wards, freeing bound Wraiths, pushing herself to the breaking point. Echo fights to keep her alive while their team battles through increasingly desperate defences. They reach the Pyre chamber, and what they find there changes everything: the control nexus is guarded by a Harbinger they know. By someone they loved. The episode ends with a choice: destroy the Pyre and doom the trapped souls to uncontrolled dissolution, or risk everything trying to free them first.
